Simple 21 day Detox!

Yet, another detox I stumbled across on Pinterest! I finally have an excuse to but a new tea kettle ;] When people hear the word “detox”, they think of fasting, maybe sticking to only raw foods, or cutting out certain food groups completely for a temporary time.  When I “detox” or cleanse, I am dedicating a certain period of time to practicing clean eating habits that I hope to adopt into my lifestyle completely!  I’ve tried everything from a Paleo diet to juicing, from a raw food diet to chugging detox teas.  My purpose has always been to cleanse my body of toxins and maximize my nutrition, especially in combination with exercise.

For this 3 week cleanse, I will continue my normal clean eating habits, but am just tweaking my morning routine!

2-4 cups warm water with 1/2 a lemon. THAT’s IT!

Some of the benefits of this simple morning ritual include:

-aids in digestion (i.e. bloating, heart burn, gas)

-strengthens your immune system and oral health

-vitamin C is a stress reducer and energy booster

-boosts your metabolism

-good for your liver, UTI prevention, your heart, and kidney stone prevention

-hydrates and reduces wrinkles and eye circles

The best part is that I don’t have to be so hard on myself with the foods I eat (though I always try to eat clean).  Hopefully after experimenting with this detox for the next three weeks, I will just add it into my daily routine!

Eating healthy is a lifestyle.  You can’t change it overnight! By gradually working into it with different clean-eating suggestions and guidelines, you can craft yourself the regimen that works best for you!  Not only do you save money and feel 50xbetter, but you prevent yourself from encountering health issues in the future, by nurturing your body with superfood nutrition.
